What are your hours?

We are currently available by appointment only. For customers to pick up orders we would suggest calling beforehand or placing an order through our online store to secure an order. We do not take walk-in appointments.

  • Monday - Friday: 11:00am -  4:00pm

  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

What if I want specific flowers/colors?

If you'd like to request any specific colors or flowers, please do so in the notes at checkout or give us a call. We will do our best to accommodate your flower/color choices. With that said, being a private studio, I work with flowers and greenery that is available and in season.

How do I keep my flowers alive?

Keep out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources, when changing the water frequently, give the stems a new cut each time and use flower food if possible

The window for pick-up orders is noon - 4 pm, Monday - Friday.

How do you handle flower deliveries?

Flower Deliveries generally take place Monday- Saturday 12 noon to 4 pm. The cut-off time for same-day orders is 12 pm. Our last delivery of the day is 4 pm. Orders that miss the same-day cut-off window will be sent the following day.

What is your delivery range?

We deliver to Anacortes, Washington, and Skagit County areas. If you are unsure about our delivery range, please give us a call to make sure we are able to deliver your bouquet.

If you have a change to your delivery, please contact us immediately.

What to do with flowers if nobody home:

We always call and leave messages with the recipient that we have delivered the flowers and the location we placed the flowers. If the recipient doesn’t tell us a good location then we try and find a place out of the direct sun, hard to reach from deer and a safe place out of the wind.

 

Consultations Weddings and Events

Consultations are free! A telephone call, video meeting, or a coffee meet-up is the preferred method for a consult. This can be achieved with a 30 min to 1-hour chat. No obligation until we both agree to work together. It’s as easy as scheduling a time and location and we can begin brainstorming. Many couples ask what they should bring or what they should do to prep for an efficient consultation. We suggest bringing any color swatches you might have (ex: bridesmaids dresses, linens), any pictures of flowers/décor that inspire you (ex: clipped out of a magazine, saved on your phone or pinned to your Pinterest page), the number and types of floral arrangements you want for your wedding, and/or your questions. Some brides come to the consultation on their own and others bring their groom, parent(s), or whole entourage. It is your choice and we are flexible and accommodating.

I’ve been designing floral arrangements for events since 2000. I officially started my business in 2010. I am a very versatile floral designer and work with all types of clients, budgets, and styles. How does payment work?

For weddings and events, the 35% of the payment is due at the time of booking, to secure your date.  The final balance is due 4 weeks prior to the event. We accept cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MC, Discover, AmEx).  If you have a special circumstance and would like to make different payment arrangements, we can discuss other options.

Do you have a price list for wedding arrangements?

Every wedding order is customized to fit your personality, your budget, and your colors/theme.  After our consultation, we will provide you a detailed quote and usually some options that show different price points.  I have created a general price list that lets you see some starting price points. 

Do you have generic wedding flower packages?

No. The Price varies depending on the types of flowers, size, seasonal availability, and a number of arrangements.  We will create a custom package for you!

 

Do you charge for delivery/set-up for weddings?  How about tear-down?

Yes. Delivery/set-up prices typically are 10-20% of the overall cost of the floral package. Close drop-off type deliveries are 10%, long distant, ferries taken and huge installs can go uptown 20%.

We generally don’t do teardowns.  – we can definitely discuss the details and help you with that.

Can you guarantee the colors, types, and varieties of flowers I want for my wedding?

Flowers by Shamay reserves the right to substitute flowers of equal or better quality in the event that the original flowers intended are not up to standard or are unavailable.  We make every effort to coordinate according to event theme/colors.  This rarely happens, but we include this disclaimer just in case!

Do you do destination weddings?

Yes!  We love destination weddings!  We’ve done several large weddings on the Oregon coast, Central Oregon, in California, and Hawaii.  Please inquire further about destination weddings.
